Hummingbird Feeders
At our Antisana Reserve, wildlife photographers and birders can enjoy exceptional opportunities to capture over 18 species of hummingbirds at close range. Our feeders attract stunning species like the Ecuadorian
Hillstar, Black-tailed Trainbearer, Sparkling Violetear, Shining Sunbeam, Sapphire-vented Puffleg, Great Sapphirewing, Blue-mantled Thornbill, and Purple-backed Thornbill. We’ve set up two feeder areas—one at our Condor Tower surrounded by montane forest, and another at the sandy banks of the Isco River, each attracting different hummingbird species.
The Antisana Condor Tower is a unique three-level structure designed for the ultimate wildlife viewing experience. Each floor offers a different perspective—overlooking the scenic secas lagoon with river Isco, lush montane forest, and panoramic 360° views of Condor nesting cliffs. Inside we offer:
- A warm and cozy lounge with comfortable couches and tables.
- Clean and comfortable bathrooms.
- A refreshment station offers tea, coffee, cold beer and a sandwich maker to warm your snacks. It’s the perfect place to relax, read a book, and wait in comfort as nature unfolds around you.
- Unbeatable views of the Andes.
Why settle for windy and cold roadside views of the Condor, when your group can enjoy exclusive, up-close birding at our private Condor Reserve?
Stay warm, relax in comfort, and experience the best birdwatching near Antisana National Park — with private access, stunning vistas, and unmatched chances to see Andean Condors and more.
