Early in the morning we will start our Top Birding Tour in the Ecuadorian Andes, a magestic day await us to observe one the endangered species like the Andean Condor in its natural habitat. We will pick you up between 6:00 and 6:30am from your hotel in Quito and drive towards the Upper Andean Valleys near Antisana Volcano
Our first stop is the Antisana Condor Observatory, located on the border with Antisana National Park. Our private condor reserve has a prime location for observing the mighty Andean Condor. This site offers panoramic views of the cliffs and condors nest, providing one of the best opportunities Ecuador to observe this iconic species. There are only around 120 Condors in Ecuador and we have observe around 40 of them in Antisana.
Continue to Antisana National Park where we will make strategic stops to observe different flora and fauna and natural treasures that Antisana offers up to the Andean Ibises Grasslands.
Target Birds: Andean Condor, Shining Sunbeam, Giant Hummingbird, Black Flowerpiercer, Caranculated Cara Cara, Variable Hawk, Black-chested Buzzard Eagle, Andean Coot, Andean Teal, Ruddy Duck, Andean Gull, Many-striped Canastero, Tyrian Metaltail, American Kestrel, Brown-backed Chat Tyrant, Red-crested Cotinga, Ecuadorian Hillstar, Spectacled Redstart, Andean Ibises, Paramo Pipit and if we are lucky possible the Spectacled Bear!
If the weather permits, we can see also observe the top-three volcanoes including Cotopaxi, Sincholagua and Antisana. We will enjoy a delicious ecuadorian Lunch surrounded with an incredible mountain scenery and overviewing Secas Lagoon and Hummingbird feeders. Afternoon return to Quito.
